ATPL (H) MODULAR

The ATPL(H) Modular Course allows the student to obtain a complete training towards the ATPL level in a flexible and staggered way, advancing by modules according to his/her availability and professional moment.

The training is structured in four modular steps:

  • PPL(H)
  • Online theoretical ATPL
  • Time Building (155 hours)
  • CPL(H)

The itinerary is designed so that, once the PPL(H) is obtained, the student can take the online theoretical ATPL and Time Building in parallel, and then complete the CPL(H). The PPL(H) is always a key step, whether it is taken at Coptering or previously obtained at another school.

The flight practices are carried out from Sabadell Airport, with new Cabri G2 model helicopters, with state-of-the-art design and technology, oriented to maximize learning and safety.

The program also includes the use of the Coptering simulator, an H-135 FNPT II, suitable for training and for practicing emergency procedures.

Modular structure of the ATPL(H) program

The modular scheme is shown below, highlighting the importance of PPL(H) and the possibility of taking certain modules in parallel:

Modulo1 (mandatory) Module 2 Module 3 Module 4
PPL(H) Online Theoretical ATPL Time Building – 155 hours CPL(H)
Prerequisite for access to the rest of the modules. May have been obtained at Coptering or another school. Can be taken once the PPL(H) has been obtained. It can be taken in parallel with Time Building. It can be performed in parallel with the theoretical ATPL once the PPL(H) has been obtained. Last module of the itinerary, taken after completing the previous steps.

★ Indicates mandatory modules within the modular ATPL(H) pathway.

To start the ATPL(H) Modular pathway, the student must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Hold a high school diploma or, failing that, pass the academic training level tests at the school.
  • Have a valid Class I medical certificate.
  • Be in possession of a PPL(H) license or have previously taken a PPL (H ) license at our school.

650 hours of theoretical training.

The duration of the Modular ATPL(H) program will depend on the applicant’s availability and planning, as it is a modular training program.

Approximately 115 flight hours, since the regulations require 155 hours flown as pilot in command to be able to access the flight part of the ATPL course.

The itinerary is designed so that, once the PPL(H) is obtained, the student can take the online theoretical ATPL and Time Building in parallel, and then complete the CPL(H). The PPL(H) is always a key step, whether it is taken at Coptering or previously obtained at another school.

The modular program combines theoretical training (classroom and online) with practical flight and simulator training.

Theoretical training

  • Total teaching load:
    • 650 hours of theoretical training.
  • Modality:
    • 64 hours of classroom theory classes in our classrooms at Sabadell Airport (required by regulations).
    • Rest of the theory in online format through a digital platform.
  • Place of classroom teaching:
    • Own classrooms at Sabadell Airport.
  • Subjects:
    • Air Law
    • Structure, systems and power plant
    • Instrumentation
    • Loading and centering
    • Flight planning and supervision
    • Helicopter performance
    • Human actions and limitations
    • Meteorology
    • General navigation
    • Radionavigation
    • Operating procedures
    • Principles of flight
    • Communications
    • KSA

Coptering’s FNPT II H-135 simulator, ideal for emergency procedures and other specific training.

Upon completion of the modular pathway and passing the corresponding exams, the student will obtain:

  • CPL in license.
  • Theoretical ATPL frozen.
  • Theoretical IR.
  • Cabri G2 qualification.

Among the possible career opportunities associated with this training are, among others:

  • Emergency operations (HEMS).
  • Rescue missions (sea or mountain).
  • Fire extinguishing.
  • Police services (traffic, customs).
  • Aerial filming and photography.
  • Tracking of gas or electricity lines.
  • Instruction.
  • In order to register, a training contract must be signed and the registration fee must be paid.
  • The school has different payment and financing systems and facilities, adapted to the circumstances of each student.
  • Different accommodation options are offered for students who require it.
  • Once the training has been completed and the corresponding license has been obtained, Coptering students may receive, if they wish, advice and preparation for access to selection tests and job vacancies in the various national and international airlines, according to their interests and preferences.
  • Price: consult according to the number of modules required by the student.

The total amount will be defined according to the modules to be taken by the student within the ATPL(H) Modular pathway, thus allowing a planning adjusted to the student’s starting point and training objectives.
